Drive-Through Doubles as Sobriety Test

This story is a great reminder of life in college, when weekend parties would give way to late-night junk food cravings. We always had a designated driver, but a 27-year-old Aurora man found a DUI charge (Sun-Times) along with his burrito after getting his car stuck in a Taco Bell drive-through lane.

Not sure if Aaron Dawson had a chance to eat his late-night snack before having his picture taken.

Dawson blew a .10 on the breathalyzer, allegedly drunk enough to somehow get his Dodge to straddle the curb, lifting his two front tires off the ground. An employee called for help after realizing Dawson's car was immobile.

No one got hurt in the incident, which caused damage to nearby sprinklers and his car.

Fast food restaurants (many of which stay open all night on the weekends) have long been popular spots for the weary after a night of boozing it up.

The story doesn't quite top the recent antics of a Tennessee woman who allegedly "struck several vehicles before pulling into the drive-in" (AP, via SFGate.com) at a Sonic restaurant, and then tried to order food from a police officer.

Anyone in a similarly embarrassing situation should immediately drop the chalupa and contact a Chicago DUI lawyer.
